Job Overview

Farmington Municipal Schools is seeking motivated individuals for temporary summer positions to assist our Plant Operations team with district-wide painting projects. This is an excellent seasonal opportunity for teachers, district staff, or individuals looking for consistent summer work.

Position Details

• Employment Type: Temporary / Seasonal (Summer Help)
• Work Dates: June 1st through July 31st
• Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 6:30 AM – 4:30 PM (Enjoy a 3-day weekend!)
• Wage: $16.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare interior and exterior surfaces for painting (scraping, sanding, taping, and priming).
• Apply paint, stains, and finishes to walls, trim, and other school district structures using brushes, rollers, or sprayers.
• Assist with moving furniture and setting up protective coverings (drop cloths, plastic) to secure work areas.
• Maintain clean and organized work sites, including proper cleanup and storage of painting tools and equipment.
• Follow all district safety protocols and guidelines.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform physical labor, including standing, bending, walking, and climbing ladders for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a team environment.
• Reliable, punctual, and committed to the full summer schedule.
• Prior painting or maintenance experience is a plus, but not required.
