Position Overview
- Position Title: Kentucky Tech Center Health Science Instructor
- Location: Boone County Area Technology Center | 3320 Cougar Path, Hebron, KY 41048
- Employment Type: Full-Time (Under KRS Chapter 156 OCTE; not subject to KRS 18A classified/unclassified service)
- Salary: Dependent on rank and experience
The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE), Office of Career & Technical Education (OCTE) is seeking a dedicated, knowledgeable, and passionate Health Science Instructor for the Boone County Area Technology Center. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to shape the future workforce by teaching secondary students state-approved, career-focused healthcare pathways.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach occupational preparatory classes within the Health Science career and technical education (CTE) program.
- Prepare high school students for future healthcare careers through hands-on instruction and curriculum delivery.
- Collaborate with local business and industry partners to ensure program relevance.
- Perform other instructional or administrative duties as required by the center.
Role Requirements
Minimum Education & Experience (Meet one of the following):
- Hold a Rank III Kentucky teaching certificate in Health Science.
- Hold a Kentucky Statement of Eligibility in Health Science.
- Possess four (4) years of appropriate work experience in the field, with at least two (2) of those years occurring within the last five (5) years.
Special Requirements (Mandatory):
- Must hold a current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Must have one (1) year of long-term care experience obtained in an approved skilled nursing facility (SNF) or distinct part long-term care unit as defined by Federal Regulations Part 483.
Additional Conditions:
- Background & Drug Screen: Applicants may be required to submit to a drug screening test and criminal background check.
- Contract Releases: Applicants currently under contract with a local school district must submit a written release from their superintendent before an employment offer can be extended.
