The Mt. Lebanon School District is seeking applicants for the position of Special Education Classroom Aide at Mt. Lebanon High School beginning with the 2026-2027 school year.
This is a full-time, on-site, permanent position working 7 hours per day, 190 days per school year.
The Special Education Classroom Aide (SECA) is an education paraprofessional who provides instructional support to students with special needs, the special education classroom teacher, and the Special Education Department and program at large. Under the direction of the special education teacher, the SECA works directly with students in accordance with Individualized Education Programs (IEP's), provides clerical support for the implementation of instructional activities, and assists in the implementation of clerical functions in the classroom. Special Education Classroom Aides may be assigned to work with more than one teacher and/or in more than one classroom, including learning support and/or life skills/autistic support classrooms and settings.

Schedule:
Monday-Friday 7 Hours/Day
Scheduled between the hours of 7:45 AM and 3:15 PM
190 days during the regular school year (summers, weekends and holidays off)
2026-2027 Rates:
Starting wages are either $17.09 per hour (approx. $22,729 annual) or $17.59 per hour (approx. $23,394 annual), for new hires to the District, depending upon previous school district experience.
This is a salaried position with a fixed per pay amount disbursed over 24 pays September through August.

QUALIFICATIONS
In order to be eligible for instructional paraprofessional positions, the applicant must meet the following criteria:
Be a high school graduate or possess a GED,
AND
1) Have completed at least two (2) years of postsecondary study,
OR
2) Possess an Associates degree or higher,
OR
3) Complete a series of job-based trainings during the first year of employment, and continuing education credit hours during subsequent years
