POSITION 26A146 TITLE: Assistant Drama/Thespians Club Advisor
LOCATION: John Marshall High
QUALIFICATIONS: Preferred professional educator employed by the Marshall County Board of Education at John Marshall High
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Organize and execute a drama program that will promote school pride
2. Attempt to integrate the drama program with the total school program
3. Promote positive public relations regarding the school's extracurricular programs
4. Abide by the county, state, and federal rules and regulations when applicable
5. Accept responsibility for the behavior and welfare of his/her performing group during rehearsals, staged productions, and/or contests
6. Accept responsibility for the use of practice and/or performance area and its accompanying facilities/equipment
7. Provide leadership and instruction in the preparation of theatrical productions a minimum of twice yearly.
8. Provide leadership and support in the areas of dramatic arts
9. Maintain professional work habits
10. Strive to create a diversified, yearly drama program that emphasizes, but is not limited to, student work in set construction, costuming, make-up, lighting, sound, publicity, and/or properties
11. Assist in maintaining accurate financial records under the auspices of the designated school financial office
12. Maintain and upgrade his/her professional skills
13. Encourage students in the extracurricular drama program to attend any school offered field based experiences in the theater arts
14. Recruit students to participate in the drama club
15. Perform all other duties as assigned by school principal

SALARY: Salary based on experience and education level per MCS BOE salary schedule located at https://boe.mars.k12.wv.us/o/mcs/page/salary-schedules.
