Position Title: Assistant High School Girls Basketball Coach
Location: University Schools – Greeley, Colorado
Position Type: Seasonal / Co-Curricular (Stipend Position)
Salary/Stipend: $3,210–$4,127 per season, based on experience and placement on the University Schools Co-Curricular Stipend Schedule.
University Schools is seeking a passionate and dedicated Assistant High School Girls Basketball Coach to support the continued growth and success of our girls basketball program. This position offers the opportunity to mentor student-athletes, contribute to a positive team culture, and work collaboratively within a supportive K–12 school community.
The selected candidate will serve as a varsity assistant coach and may also lead the JV or C-Team program.
Position Overview
The Assistant Girls Basketball Coach will work closely with the head coach and Athletic Department to support all aspects of the girls basketball program. Responsibilities include assisting with practices, game preparation, player development, team culture, and program operations while promoting sportsmanship, accountability, and academic success.
Essential Responsibilities
- Assist in the organization and development of the girls basketball program in collaboration with the Athletic Department
- Support the planning and implementation of daily practices and skill development sessions
- Assist with scouting opponents and implementing game strategies
- Serve as a positive role model for student-athletes both on and off the court
- Foster teamwork, sportsmanship, leadership, and personal growth among players
- Build positive relationships with students, families, staff, and the school community
- Ensure compliance with CHSAA rules, regulations, and school policies
- Complete administrative responsibilities necessary for the advancement of the program
- Assist with supervision during practices, games, travel, and team events
- Support off-season development opportunities and program growth initiatives
Minimum Qualifications
- Previous basketball coaching experience preferred
- Experience mentoring and working with students
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- CHSAA athletic coaching certification (or ability to obtain prior to the season)
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain
Compensation & Benefits
- Compensation is based on experience, qualifications, and placement on the University Schools Co-Curricular Stipend Schedule approved by the Board of Governors.
- This position is not eligible for traditional employee benefits such as health insurance, retirement, or paid leave.
