Position

The Central Registrar is responsible for interacting with families, in person and on the phone, to successfully and positively register students into the District. Main responsibilities include collecting and reporting all official student registration records using the district's student information system. Specific duties include communicating with registering families, coordinating registration procedures, and managing and maintaining the accuracy of student information, including generating reports and developing practices and procedures for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of student data. This position monitors and makes necessary adjustments of cross-system data transfers, helps connect families to district programs [Special Education and ELD], and assists district staff with state and federal reporting. The registrar develops and promotes good community relations among various community and school clientele, serving as the first point of contact for parents/guardians and families seeking information and assistance with the registration and enrollment process.


Essential Duties

  • Interact professionally and positively with families to register students into the District. Serve as the first point of contact for district staff and the public seeking assistance with student registration information.
  • Coordinate registration processes and procedures and prepare materials for pre-registration and registration.
  • Manage the review of required documentation and accurate entry of student data into the District's electronic student information system.
  • Assist with updating and maintaining student information in the Colorado Department of Education student database.
  • Create and maintain positive relationships with school colleagues and external stakeholders.
  • Provide information to district program staff as needed to ensure appropriate placement of students into programs.
  • Keep registration processing up to date to facilitate accurate state reporting such as the October Count and year-end reports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
  • Associate degree in a related field preferred. 


Experience

  • Two or more years of direct professional experience in a relevant role may be substituted for the degree requirement.
  • Ability to speak Spanish is preferred.

  • Personal computer and keyboarding skills; advanced computer hardware and software skills; operating knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office and Google.
  • Operating knowledge of, and experience with, general office equipment, including telephones, copier, etc.;
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Bilingual oral and written communication skills are preferred
  • Ability to use supportive technology.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with frequent interruptions and manage task changes;
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Speak to students, parents, colleagues, and community members with respect and dignity.

  • Promotes and follows Board of Education policies, building or department procedures, and any other rules and regulations as may be established by central, building, or department administration.



Starting salary is Grade 7, $24.75/hour
