Job Title: Secretary (Child Study Team)
Reports To: Building Principal and Director of Special Education
Job Purpose: To provide secretarial services to the Child Study Team and district special education office.
Qualifications-Required:
High School Diploma
Demonstrate strong typing skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Highly organized and highly accurate
Working knowledge of basic office procedures
Working knowledge of the operation of common office equipment and machines
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office software, Google Docs
Strong general computer skills
Excellent attendance
Able to meet required time lines and maintain communication regarding status of the work
Able to work with members of a team
Able to multi-task
Able to maintain confidentiality
Able to work independently
Ability to pass the Pre-employment Physical
Ability to pass the required Criminal History Review
Ability to pass the Sexual Misconduct Child Abuse Disclosure
Qualifications-Desired:
Experience as office staff in a school district
Experience with Aesop and Infinite Campus applications
Knowledge of special education law and procedures
Duties/Responsibilities:
Arranges/schedules appointments for CST meetings
Organizes and compiles data for reports needed by CST members and the district special education office
Performs the normal office routines and practices associated with a dynamic middle school setting
Monitors supply needs and order supplies as needed throughout the school year using the district purchasing software.
Provides clerical support to the assigned office
Performs and completes tasks as directed and assigned by the administrator who oversees the office
Performs tasks with little to no supervision
Greets parents/guardians, and all other visitors to the office
Takes accurate phone messages for the administrator
Takes accurate information from parents/guardians
Knows what information to request for from visitors to help assist the administrator in addressing the visitor's needs
Secures appropriate information
Arranges appointments and maintains schedules
Creates and maintains a clean, attractive, orderly safe, and efficient office environment
Continues to provide efficient work through the collaboration with fellow office staff members
Prepares reports as requested by the administrator
Exhibits a welcoming and friendly personality to all visitors to the office
Maintains ledgers, reports, records and any other office documents as directed by the administrator
Additional duties as assigned by administration

12-month position

Annual Salary Range of $47,034 (Step 1) - $55,614 (Step 6) based on experience
