Work Year: 260 Day Calendar Year

Hourly Rate: $19.21
This posting is for a part time, 0.5 FTE position (20 hours per week)

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: 
Performs responsibilities and duties related to the Accounting/Finance Department with a focus on accounts payable, accounts receivable, and back-up for purchasing and receiving coordinator. 

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP:
Reports to the Controller

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:  

  • Process invoices for payments
  • Review and reconcile vendor statements
  • Update and maintain vendor files
  • Double check W-9s for correct information
  • Assist in annual 1099 reporting
  • Respond to AP inquiries from vendors and employees
  • Review electronic documentation for completeness
  • Receive cash, prepare deposits and deposit records
  • Assist Controller with financial transparency requirements and reporting
  • Assist Controller with Pcard program
  • Various data entry duties
  • Prepare and process routine reports
  • Partner with Activities Coordinator to complete financial-related tasks
  • Maintain a positive, courteous, customer service-oriented work style
  • Assist in checking in and inspecting deliveries for accuracy and condition of order
  • Assist in maintaining paperwork (packing/delivery slips) and marking them appropriately to maintain order history
  • Assist in matching up packing/delivery slips to the receiving copy of the purchase order
  • Assist in placing partial and completed purchase order paperwork in the appropriate file, determined by status
  • Label boxes for delivery, assisting in the recording of incoming and outgoing orders
  • General office tasks to include scanning and filing


MARGINAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Prepares and processes routine reports
  • Performs other duties as required

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in accounting or finance preferred

EXPERIENCE:
Accounts payable or bookkeeping experience required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software, especially Word and Excel

  • Ability to learn and operate TCA's accounting software

  • Ability to follow written and oral instruction and work with minimal supervision

  • Ability to review payment vouchers for accuracy

  • Ability to follow established procedures

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Ability to use a 10 key

  • Knowledge of Colorado state school accounting codes is beneficial

  • Typical demands require the employee to:
    • Spend majority of work hours sitting and occasionally stand or walk while performing job duties
    • Occasionally lift burdens weighing up to 30-40 lbs.
    • Frequently use eye, hand, and finger coordination to enable the use of a computer, other office equipment, and writing utensils

  • TIME OFF COMPENSATION: An employee with 0.5 to 1.0 FTE will receive Staff Leave and Personal Leave. For positions less than 1.0 FTE, leave time will be prorated based on FTE. Our leave program is fully compliant with the Colorado Healthy Families Workplace Act.
  • PRIORITY ENROLLMENT STATUS: Children of staff members 0.4 FTE and above receive priority enrollment of their child/children at The Classical Academy.
