Key Requirements and Qualifications

• Certification: Valid Louisiana Teaching Certificate in English Language Arts (Grades 4–8 or 6–12, as applicable) in accordance with Louisiana Department of Education guidelines (Bulletin 746).
• Education: Bachelor's degree (minimum) in English, Elementary/Secondary Education, or a related field.
• Experience: 2+ years of teaching experience is frequently preferred.
• Content Knowledge: In-depth understanding of Louisiana Student Standards for English Language Arts for grades 5–8, including reading comprehension, writing, grammar, vocabulary, speaking, and listening, as well as curriculum implementation.
• Skills: Strong written and oral communication skills; effective classroom management; ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs; and ability to use data-driven instruction to improve student achievement.
