Description

Job Title: Warehouse/Groundskeeper I
Salary Structure: Starting at $17.11/ Hr.
Position Contract: Support Staff, Non-Exempt, 12-Months, Grade 2

General Description:
Responsible for performing tasks to receive, store, and distribute materials, tools, equipment and supplies for the district warehouse operation; and for providing grounds keeping support for the district. 

Representative Duties:

  1. Monitors purchase orders and incoming shipment files to ensure equipment is properly received, tagged, and inventoried in a timely manner.
  2. Inspects daily warehouse shipments by opening boxes, crates, and pallets to verify contents, confirm accuracy against requisitions, invoices, and shipping notices, and prepare items for storage or distribution.
  3. Utilizes electronic devices to scan, catalogue, and maintain accurate records of materials and equipment, including quantity, type, and value of items received or distributed.
  4. Enters new assets, location updates, inventory transfers, and other relevant data into the Asset Tiger inventory database; prints and distributes annual instructor inventory reports and additional reports as needed.
  5. Conducts physical inventory audits in district classrooms, offices, and buildings; processes annual instructor audits by updating the database and re-tagging items as needed.
  6. Tracks inventory transfers and updates item locations in the database; utilizes submitted inventory forms and files them accordingly.
  7. Uses a camera to photograph items and uploads images to the inventory database or for auction purposes.
  8. Prepares lists of surplus items for the Board Report to declare items as surplus; organizes surplus items for auction at district sites or in the warehouse.
  9. Enters data for each auction item or lot on the Public Surplus website, monitors the auction site daily, and assists auction customers with inquiries, item viewings, payments, and pickups.
  10. Fills requisitions, work orders, and material requests; conveys, loads, unloads, and distributes materials, furniture, and equipment to and from storage areas, campuses, and warehouse facilities using hand trucks, dollies, pallet jacks, or forklifts.
  11. Performs assembly and delivery of furniture, equipment, and materials; sets up equipment and furniture at campus locations.
  12. Operates and maintains district vehicles, performs required weekly vehicle inspections, and holds a valid Oklahoma driver's license.
  13. Applies water, fertilizer, and chemicals as instructed for proper grounds maintenance; operates power mowing equipment and cutting tools to maintain grounds; digs holes or trenches as required.
  14. Recommends improvements to policies, procedures, and service approaches to support continuous operational improvement; supports strategic planning efforts related to the Performance Excellence Plan for Metro Technology Centers.
  15. Performs related duties as assigned. 

 

General Qualification Requirements:


Education/Experience:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Some warehouse and grounds keeping experience. 

(Above requirements may be met by equivalent combination of education and experience) 


 Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to handle numerous tasks at once.
  • Ability to interpret instructions and specifications.
  • Ability to safely operate motor vehicles.
  • Ability to document simple records.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Reliable, dependable, and punctual attendance.

 

Special Requirements

  • Licenses/Certificates: Valid Oklahoma Driver's License.
  • Forklift certificate required.
  • Proficient in computer skills.
  • Ability to interpret and follow instructions, specifications.
  • Ability to safely operate equipment.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Reliable, dependable, and punctual attendance.

ENVIRONMENT/WORKING CONDITIONS:

Most of the time is spent in a warehouse or outdoor environment. Temperature extremes can be either high or low. Mechanical equipment hazards.

 

MINIMUM PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

Frequent standing, moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, reaching, manual dexterity, (all representative duties).
