Description

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Instructional Leadership and Expectations

  • Assist the Principal in supervising and supporting the school's instructional program
  • Support the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices
  • Monitor classroom instruction to ensure alignment with district instructional expectations and student learning goals
  • Support continuous improvement efforts focused on increasing student growth and academic achievement

Personnel and Staff Support

  • Assist with interviewing, hiring, onboarding, assigning, supervising, and evaluating staff
  • Foster positive, respectful, and collaborative working relationships among staff
  • Assist in addressing personnel concerns and recommend corrective action when necessary
  • Assist the principal with the supervision and evaluation of all professional, paraprofessional, certified, and classified personnel at the school  

Leadership and School Operations

  • Serve as a direct support to the Principal in the daily operation and management of the school
  • Assist in implementing and monitoring school procedures, Board policies, and district expectations
  • Support the development and maintenance of a safe, orderly, and positive learning environment
  • Assist in coordinating school-wide operations, events, and supervision needs
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Principal or district leadership

Student Services and School Culture

  • Oversee and support student attendance, discipline, behavior systems, and intervention processes
  • Work collaboratively with staff to promote student success and a positive school culture
  • Serve as a liaison between the middle school and alternative school to support student transitions, programming, and success plans
  • Facilitate communication between students, families, and staff

Special Education and Student Support

  • Serve as the Local Education Agency (LEA) representative for Special Education and Section 504 meetings as assigned
  • Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal guidelines related to student services and accommodations
  • Collaborate with teachers, counselors, interventionists, and support staff to meet student needs

Safety and Facilities

  • Assist in maintaining school safety, security procedures, and emergency response protocols
  • Oversee facility use, maintenance coordination, and operational needs of the building
  • Collaborate with custodial, maintenance, and district personnel to ensure a safe and functional school environment

Performance Expectations:

  • Support a culture of high expectations, accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with teachers, students, parents, district personnel, and community stakeholders
  • Support the implementation of district initiatives, curriculum expectations, and school improvement goals with fidelity
  • Assist in developing and maintaining a safe, orderly, and positive learning environment conducive to student success
  • Demonstrate strong organizational and problem-solving skills while managing multiple responsibilities and priorities
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions and decision-making processes
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Provide timely follow-through on assigned responsibilities, tasks, and communications
  • Model professionalism, ethical behavior, and positive leadership for staff and students
  • Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively as a member of the school leadership team
  • Respond effectively and professionally to challenging situations involving students, staff, or families
  • Perform all duties in alignment with the mission, vision, and expectations of Lenoir City Schools

Qualifications:

  • Administrator's License required
  • Minimum of three (3) years of successful classroom teaching experience
  • Experience in instructional leadership, student support, or school operations preferred
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with students, staff, families, and community stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
