Food Service Assistant Manager (35 Hrs)
Description
Primary Job Functions: The primary function of the Food Service Assistant Manager is to help the Food Service Manager by directing and guiding overall food and nutrition services program at the school level, while conforming to food quality standards and implementation of nutrition standards for meals. The employee must oversee productivity, accountability, training, and evaluation of staff. In carrying out assigned responsibilities, the School Food Service Assistant Manager must ensure that all personnel under his/her operational control comply with all government, regulatory, state agency and school district policies and procedures. During consultation with other school professionals, staff, teachers and administrators, the highest possible customer satisfaction is to be achieved.
Salary Lane: Hourly pay starting at $18.75
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Assigned Workday Calendar: 182 days (School Year Days)
Job Status: Full-Time - 35 Hours per Week
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6:30am - 2:00pm
Benefits: Full-time positions are eligible for medical, dental insurance as well as supplemental benefits such as vision, life insurance, disability, etc. Eligible for PERF Retirement.

Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required. College training or technical training is desirable.
- Certification: Employee must be Serv-Save certified or achieve certification within one year of hire keeping up with current requirements.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year experience in an institutional food service setting or other hospitality field.
- Skills and Knowledge: In food preparation, personnel management, preparation of reports and maintaining efficient staff. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and Titan POS System
- Other: Ability to maintain a positive relationship with pupils, staff, parents, and the community.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for planning and preparing main entrees and other food items as assigned.
- Cover Cafeteria Manager when out of the building including but not limited to inventory, ordering/receiving, supervision of staff, daily reports
Comply with all Avon Community School Corporation policies, guidelines, procedures, and protocols.
- Participate in professional development, as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, and use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance, vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
