Position: Coordinator of Programs for English Language Learners
Job Description: To support and assist classroom teachers in effectively supporting students in meeting the standards identified in the Massachusetts English Language Proficiency Benchmarks and Outcomes document. To provide leadership, coordination, and innovation in effective sheltered content instruction for students not yet proficient in English and not enrolled in an intensive sheltered English immersion class.
Performance Responsibilities:
1. Coordinate, with the Director of Professional Development, opportunities for all teachers to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to support English language learners.
2. Participate in a DESE-sponsored MLL/DLE work group to develop a document template and exemplars to guide the development of an MLL/DLE curriculum at the district level.
3. Coordinate the continued development of an MLL/DLE K-12 curriculum.
4. Recommend district policies and procedures to support both sheltered English immersion classes and effective sheltered content instruction for students not yet enrolled in an intensive sheltered English immersion class.
5. Assist with the identification and acquisition of appropriate curriculum materials for English language learners
Required Qualifications:
1. Possession of a valid Massachusetts educator's license;
2. Must possess or meet prerequisites for Supervisor/Director license;
3. Working knowledge of the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks and the state assessments, including Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System (MCAS), WIDA, and ACCESS;
4. Knowledge and understanding of effective educational practices and research-based strategies for improving learning;
5. Successful experience helping others shift to more effective educational practice;
6. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills; and
7. Excellent time management, organizational, human relations and interpersonal skills.
The Superintendent of Schools reserves the right to waive a position qualification or determine that there is an acceptable alternative to that qualification. If the Superintendent intends to waive a qualification, such intent will be shared with the Fall River School Committee.

Terms of Employment: Salary, length of the work year and hours and benefits according to the Fall River Administrator's Contract.
Salary Range: $98,673.00-$136,288.00
