A vacancy exists for a Human Resources Assistant to work at the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit in the Office of Human Resources. The Human Resources Assistant supports the daily operations of the Office of Human Resources by being the greeter for the Human Resources office and assisting with recruitment, hiring, scheduling, and administrative processes. This position provides a high level of customer service while coordinating interviews, managing communications, maintaining HR systems, and ensuring data accuracy and compliance across all HR functions. The role also supports scheduling, record processing, and general operational coordination to ensure efficient and effective HR services.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2-4 years of related experience.
Prior experience in human resources in the educational or nonprofit setting preferred.
Expertise (includes one or more of the following):
Professional approach to their work that includes very strong customer service skills.
Strong technology skills, including extensive use of HRIS/HR systems, databases and spreadsheets, Microsoft Office, Google, etc.
Specialized skills in area to be able to work autonomously as proven through work experience.
Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with administrators and staff.
Ability to possess high standards of ethics and confidentiality.
Ability to work under stress and with frequent interruptions.
Ability to work independently and make work-related decisions and exercise good judgement in prioritizing tasks.
Original certificates of clearance from the State Police, Child Abuse Registry, and PDE FBI.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Serve as a greeter for Human Resources Office, including greeting visitors and handling inquiries with high-quality customer service. Address inquiries and escalate issues appropriately while ensuring follow-through.
Assist with recruitment and hiring efforts, including scheduling interviews, coordinating candidate communications, and conducting reference checks
Support job postings and advertisement of vacancies across multiple platforms and organizations
Assist with planning and coordination of recruitment events and job fairs
Coordinate and schedule interviews, meetings, and appointments for HR staff and stakeholders
Manage calendars and support scheduling logistics with internal and external stakeholders
Serve as a point of contact for scheduling-related inquiries and ensure timely follow-up and resolution
Process HR forms, track completion, and ensure payroll and system updates are completed accurately as assigned in our HR software. Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance HR operations
Process record requests and maintain documentation in accordance with policies and procedures
Support compliance tracking and documentation as needed
Process incoming mail and correspondence as needed
Assist with special projects and departmental initiatives
Project a positive image of the IU and its programs and services.
Serve as a back-up and support to other HR staff members.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director and/or Assistant Director.
Location:
The Montgomery County Intermediate Unit is located at 2 W. Lafayette St. Norristown, PA 19401.
Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 7 hours/day, 12 months (260-262 days/year).
Salary:
$24.86/hour - $29.25/hour (PS3)
