NEW FAIRFIELD BOARD OF EDUCATION
POSITION: English Teacher
SCHOOL: High School
GENERAL DUTIES: The ideal candidate will possess strong instructional practices, the ability to build meaningful relationships with students, and a commitment to creating an inclusive learning environment that supports diverse learners. Responsibilities will include:
- Teach high school English courses in alignment with district curriculum and Connecticut standards
- Develop and deliver engaging lessons that promote literacy, critical thinking, and effective communication skills
- Differentiate instruction to meet the academic, social, and emotional needs of diverse learners
- Assess student learning and provide timely, meaningful feedback to students and families
- Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom culture
- Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and administration to support student success
- Integrate technology and instructional best practices into classroom instruction
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, curriculum work, and school community activities as appropriate
QUALIFICATIONS: Valid Connecticut Certification: 015 English (Grades 7–12) required or NY equivalent to work towards certification reciprocity.
- Strong knowledge of secondary English curriculum, instructional strategies, and assessment practices
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
SALARY: Per NFEA Contract
