EXTENDED SCHOOL YEAR - SUMMER LEARNING CENTER PROGRAM
SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHERS - GRADES K-5, 6-8, OR 9-12

The Mt. Lebanon School District is seeking teacher applicants for its 2026 Special Education Extended School Year - Summer Learning Center Program.

Special education teachers are needed to teach remediation in reading, math, and social skills to students in elementary, middle, or high school assignments, based on student needs, and as articulated in the IEP's of enrolled elementary students. 

Assignments may include: Learning Support, Life Skills Support, or Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) autistic support.

In order to be eligible to apply for these positions, the applicant must hold a valid Pennsylvania instructional certificate in at least one of the certification subject areas listed below, or possess equivalent authorization in the form of a college/university placeholder letter indicating completion of a PDE approved teacher preparation program, along with evidence of passing scores on relevant certification exams while certification is pending.

PDE Certification Subject Areas:
Special Education: PK-12, PK-8, N-12

Rate: $39.00 per hour 

LOCATION: Washington Elementary and Mellon Middle Schools

Session Days:     Monday through Thursday
Session Times:    9:00 AM – 12:00 PM (employees report from 8:45 AM - 12:15 PM)
Training Day: WED 06/17/26 (anticipated 9 AM-11AM)
Week 1:    06/22/26-06/25/26 Life Skills & Autistic Support (ABA) Students Only
Week 2:    06/29/26-07/02/26 All groups
Week 3:    07/07/26-07/09/26 All groups - Building Closed 07/06/26 - July 4th Holiday Observed
Week 4:    07/13/26-07/16/26 All groups
Week 5:    07/20/26-07/23/26 All groups

 
EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:
In order to be eligible for employment in Pennsylvania public schools, the following clearances, trainings, and forms are required by the Mt. Lebanon School District upon hire:
Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance (Act 151) dated within the past 12 months of hire
Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check (Act 34) dated within the past 12 months of hire
FBI Federal Criminal History Record (Act 114) dated within the past 12 months of hire
Act 126 Child/Student Abuse Recognition and Reporting Training
Arrest or Conviction Form (PDE 6004) (Act 24)
School Personnel Health Record (Physical including TB test) dated within the past 12 months of hire
Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure Information (Act 168)
