Full-Time Salary: $46,400-$50,213* (actual salary will be adjusted for 0.12 FTE)
*depending upon previous relevant experience. Actual starting pay rate will be determined after a review of the work experience provided on the job application and resume.

$1200 Welcome Bonus*
*Pro-rated by FTE. Bonus will be added to October 2026 paycheck, provided the candidate has completed all Human Resources requirements.
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
Implements a school program which encourages a positive learning environment and supports The Classical Academy's mission statement and Core Values.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Creates a positive atmosphere in the classroom to help ensure success for individual student learning
- Creates and follows a plan for classroom management
- Models and instructs virtuous character traits
- Develops curriculum and lesson plans in line with The Classical Academy philosophy
- Creates and administers assessments to monitor progress and prepares participation reports twice a year for parents
- Models and instructs virtuous character traits and promotes growth in wisdom, virtue, and compassion in self and students
- Follows curriculum and lesson plans in alignment with The Classical Academy philosophy
- Creates and administers assessments to monitor progress
- Works with parents to ensure success for each student in the classroom
- Communicates regularly with parents for class announcements, assignments, special days, programs, etc. in the form of a blog or newsletter
- Communicates progress with parents and works together to ensure tasks are completed
- Attends meetings, conferences, and in-services as required
- Prepares and participates in RtI, PST and SPED meetings as needed
- Coordinates special events and field trips to enrich curriculum
MARGINAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Serves on various committees such as curriculum and planning committees
- Performs additional duties such as recess monitor, lunchroom monitor, or carpool monitor, as needed
- Supports and enforces TCA policies and expectations such as uniform & attendance policies
- Collaborates with other classroom teachers within grade level
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree required
Must meet TCA requirements for highly qualified elementary teacher
EXPERIENCE:
Experience teaching in an elementary classroom setting is preferred
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Complete Spalding training (provided)
- Must possess or be willing to obtain CPR, First Aid and Medical certification

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Work is performed in a classroom setting with occasional supervision duties such as recess, carpool, field trips, special activities, or lunchroom
- Required to work normal school hours and other hours as needed
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

- Frequently use eye, hand, and finger coordination to enable the use of a computer, other office equipment, and writing utensils
- Spend majority of work hours sitting and occasionally stand, walk, or drive while performing job duties.
- Frequently be involved in verbal and auditory interaction both interpersonally and through communication devices
- Occasionally lift/carry burdens weighing up to 35 lbs. and push/pull burdens weighing up to 100 lbs.
- Stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, reach, and balance while working or helping students

The staff member may be required to analyze, communicate, compare, compile, compute, coordinate, copy, evaluate, instruct, negotiate, synthesize, reason, and use interpersonal skills.
BENEFITS: 0.1 to 0.49 FTE:
- RETIRMENT PLAN: Administered by Colorado PERA, this is a tax deferred retirement account to which you contribute 11% of your monthly earnings. TCA contributes 20.9% to the PERA pension trust fund on your behalf.
- TIME OFF COMPENSATION: An employee with 0.1-0.49 FTE will receive 1.0 Staff Leave. For positions less than 1.0 FTE, leave time will be prorated based on FTE. Our leave program is fully compliant with the Colorado Healthy Families Workplace Act.
- PRIORITY ENROLLMENT STATUS: Children of staff members 0.4 FTE and above receive priority enrollment of their child/children at The Classical Academy.
