Degreed(Bachelors) $120.00 per full day and $60.00 per half day
Non Degreed $90.00 per full day and $45.00 per half day
Job Title: Substitute Teacher Exemption Status/Test: Nonexempt

Primary Purpose:
Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the core academic subject area assigned to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor Degree or High school diploma/ GED
Attend Substitute Orientation
Complete required trainings as necessary
Demonstrated competency and the ability to articulate the lesson plans left by the teacher.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of basic payroll accounting procedures
Ability to maintain accurate and auditable records
Ability to use software to create spreadsheets, databases, and do word processing
Proficiency in keyboarding and file maintenance
Ability to work with numbers in accurate and rapid manner to meet established deadlines
Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Instructional Strategies
- Present lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of the teacher's curriculum and implement lessons plans from the regular teacher..
- Present lessons that reflect accommodations for differences in student learning styles.
- Present subject matter according to the teacher's instructions.
- Be able to use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that are left by the teacher.
- Conduct assessment of student learning styles and use results to plan instructional activities.
- Work cooperatively with special education teachers.
- Work with other members of staff.
- Use technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process.
Student Growth and Development
- Help students analyze and improve study methods and habits.
- Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal testing.
- Assume responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned.
- Be a positive role model for students, support mission of school district.
Classroom Management and Organization
- Create classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
- Manage student behavior in accordance with Student Code of Conduct and student handbook.
- Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Assist in selection of books, equipment, and other instructional materials within the classroom.
Communication
- Establish and maintain open communication with parents, students, principals, and teachers.
- Maintain a professional relationship with colleagues, students, parents, and community members.
- Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly.
- Communicate as necessary with the regular teacher concerning student and class information and activities occurring during the regular teacher's absence from the classroom.

Working Conditions:
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent standing, stooping, bending, pulling and pushing. Move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom equipment. Supervision of students may be required outside of the building and exposure for extended periods of time to various weather conditions may occur.
