POSITION SUMMARY
Roselle Park School District is seeking an experienced, student-centered educational leader to serve as Assistant Principal / Athletic Director. This dual-role administrator will support the academic, social, emotional, and athletic success of students while promoting a positive school climate, high standards of achievement, and compliance with all district, state, and athletic regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated experience in school administration and athletic program oversight.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assistant Principal Duties:
- Assist the Principal in the daily administration and operation of the school
- Support instructional leadership and staff evaluation processes
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive school climate
- Address student discipline and attendance matters in accordance with district policies and the New Jersey Administrative Code
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, students, parents, and community stakeholders
- Assist with scheduling, supervision, emergency drill coordination, and school events
- Support implementation of district initiatives, policies, and curriculum goals
Athletic Director Duties:
- Coordinate and supervise all interscholastic athletic programs and activities
- Ensure compliance with New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA) regulations and district policies
- Oversee athletic scheduling, transportation, facilities usage, and game management
- Hire, supervise, and evaluate coaching staff
- Promote sportsmanship, student-athlete wellness, and academic eligibility standards
- Manage athletic budgets, equipment inventory, and purchasing
- Coordinate athletic physicals, eligibility documentation, and safety procedures
- Serve as liaison between school administration, coaches, parents, and community organizations
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid New Jersey Principal or School Administrator certificate
- Experience in educational leadership preferred
- Experience in athletic administration and/or coaching preferred
- Strong knowledge of NJSIAA regulations and school operations
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to multitask and lead collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
SALARY: $122,978 - $143,583 Final salary commensurate with experience and in accordance with the Roselle Park Administrator's collectively bargained agreement
