| PRIMARY TASKS & MAJOR ACTIVITIES |
Instructional leader in classroom. Responsible for planning, instructing, and evaluating student instruction. Accountable for individual classroom management. Provide appropriate student instruction in accordance with the District's K-6 curriculum. Knowledge and use of research-based instructional strategies. Participate in extensive Building Professional Development. Participate in grade level and building meetings. Work successfully as part of a team in a highly collaborative manner. Knowledge and use of authentic assessment techniques to drive instruction. Strong classroom management skills and interpersonal relations. Strong instructional integration of Technology, Science, and Math. Understand and implement Missouri Learning Standards into the curriculum in preparation for the Missouri Assessment Program (MAP).
| EDUCATIONAL/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED |
Current Missouri Certification in Elementary Education (Grades 1-6). Experience is preferred. This position will be at John Thomas School of Discovery (JTSD). Teachers and staff in this building are contracted for an additional 20 days due to an extended school year calendar. Knowledge of or desire to learn research-based instructional strategies. Knowledge of or desire to learn and integrate technology in the classroom. Knowledge of or desire to learn Missouri Assessment Program (MAP) or authentic assessment strategies. Willingness to learn new things. Strong knowledge of Technology, Science, and Math. Willingness to collaborate with peers. Must successfully pass a background check and drug test that are satisfactory to the Board of Education. Willingness to understand and support District's Comprehensive School Improvement Plan.
