Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Program Instructor (Part-Time)

Qualifications:

Valid Professional Educator License that is current and registered in DuPage County with endorsement in Emergency Medical Technician (Candidates with valid ISBE teaching licenses must also have at least two years of directly related work experience)
or 
Meet ISBE Requirements for either a Provisional Vocational Certificate or a Temporary Provisional Vocational Certificate:
 
Requirements for the Provisional Vocational Certificate

• Official transcripts, in unopened, sealed envelopes, showing 60 semester hours of credit from a recognized educational institution.
  • Documented evidence of 2,000 hours of work experience in the skill area.
• Requirements for the Temporary Provisional Vocational Certificate
  • Documented evidence of 8,000 hours of work experience in the specific skill area to be taught.

Applicants are expected to have:

• Bachelor's degree in the field and/or a combination of education, training, and tested experience
• Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Licensed Paramedic
• Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Lead Instructor preferred, National Association of EMS Educators (NAEMSE) Certification Accepted, will need to obtain IDPH Lead Instructor License
• Minimum five (5) years' experience with a fire department, fire district, or ambulance service
• Minimum two (2) years documented teaching experience, and/or recognized field preceptor for EMS system.  Verification will be required.
