Re-1 Valley School District is seeking a dedicated, dependable, and solution-oriented Facilities Coordinator to oversee and support the daily maintenance operations of district facilities and grounds. This position plays a critical role in ensuring safe, clean, functional, and well-maintained learning environments for students, staff, and the community.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, organization, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills while maintaining a high standard of professionalism and customer service. The maintenance coordinator will establish a vision with their staff that the appearance and cleanliness of our school buildings and grounds will be a source of pride in our community. The position requires a customer service approach to provide the necessary environment for students, staff, and the community to create an optimal learning space.

SALARY RANGE & CATEGORY: $24.61/hour to $31.28/hour (depending on experience) on Classified Hourly Salary Schedule
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
WORK CALENDAR: 260 days (Monday-Friday)

Position Summary:
The Facilities Coordinator is responsible for coordinating, supervising, and participating in the maintenance, repair, and operational upkeep of district facilities, grounds, and equipment. This position supports safe and efficient school operations through preventative maintenance, staff coordination, vendor communication, and facility oversight.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Leadership & Coordination
- Coordinate daily maintenance operations across district facilities
- Assist with assigning and prioritizing work orders and maintenance requests
- Supervise and support maintenance personnel as assigned
- Communicate effectively with building administrators and district staff regarding maintenance needs
- Assist in developing preventative maintenance schedules and long-range facility planning
Facility Maintenance
- Perform and oversee repairs involving plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and general maintenance
- Inspect district facilities and identify repair or safety concerns
- Coordinate seasonal maintenance and grounds upkeep
- Monitor building systems to ensure proper operation and efficiency
- Assist with setup and teardown for district events and activities
Safety & Compliance
- Maintain compliance with applicable local, state, and federal safety regulations
- Ensure safe operation and maintenance of tools, equipment, and district facilities
- Support inspections, emergency preparedness, and facility security procedures
- Maintain records related to maintenance, inspections, repairs, and compliance
Inventory & Purchasing
- Monitor maintenance inventory and supplies
- Assist with obtaining quotes and coordinating vendor services
- Recommend repairs, equipment replacement, and facility improvements
- Maintain cost-conscious and efficient use of district resources
Additional Responsibilities
- Respond to emergency maintenance situations as needed
- Assist with snow removal, grounds maintenance, and district operational needs
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of building systems, maintenance procedures, and repair methods
- Ability to supervise and coordinate staff effectively
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate professionally with staff, vendors, students, and the public
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Knowledge of workplace safety procedures and practices
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Trade school, technical certification, or related coursework preferred
- Minimum of three years of maintenance or facilities experience preferred
- Supervisory experience preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, kneel, and lift frequently
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
Ability to operate district vehicles, tools, and maintenance equipment

Caliche Elementary and Caliche Jr/Sr High School, located outside Iliff, CO, are a part of RE-1 Valley School District. The District Administration Center is located in Sterling, CO (Logan County) in the Northeastern corner of Colorado on Interstate 76 alongside the Platte River.
