Secretary - 7th Grade Center
Spring-Ford Area School District is hiring a Secretary to support the Principal and House Principal at the 7th Grade Center. This position provides overall secretarial support to ensure the smooth and efficient operation required of the school office.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs clerical duties such as: copying data, filing, sorting and distributing mail to staff, answering telephones, communicating with classrooms/custodians/principal through building system or phone to relay messages or emergencies, greeting visitors, checking visitor's I.D. through Raptor and providing guest badges, money collection for field trips, processing forms, communicating with students and parents as needed, and providing staff/faculty support.
- Supports the house principal with daily, monthly, and yearly events and tasks.
- Manages house principals calendar and scheduling as needed.
- Tracks student attendance, contacts parent(s) of absentees who have not reported out on the Absentee Line, processes late arrivals and early dismissals, enters absence information into Skyward and updates student attendance record as needed.
- Assists with scheduling Attendance Improvement Conferences and keeps record of students on an attendance improvement plan.
- Monitors student attendance for homebound instruction, partial and outpatient placements.
- Enters student discipline information into Skyward and files reports.
- Maintains student files.
- Interfaces with parents and students for complex issues and refer students and/or parents to appropriate staff for assistance.
- Is prepared to diffuse a situation or problem solve.
- Monitors unexcused student tardies and assists with parent communication when a student accumulates three unexcused tardies.
- Maintains records for student obligations, collect monies, and process books returned.
- Receives morning envelopes from teachers and disperses the documents as required.
- Assists with school activities, such as: 7th field trips, awards night, picture day, and other activities as needed.
- Assists with Substitute Teacher and/or Substitute Instructional Assistant check-in and check-out.
- Assists the Administrative Assistant with creating and processing purchasing requisitions for supplies for the school and interacts with vendors as needed.
- Orders supplies for copiers and printers and performs minor repairs to printers/copiers as needed.
- Creates contracts for assemblies.
- Maintains enrollment report for Child Accounting.
- Works within the student information system database to: make pseudo-changes, process electronic changes, student scheduling, posting grades, and data mining.
- Partakes in daily arrival and dismissal for all students including after school clubs/activities.
- Uses PA system multiple times per day to call students to the office or make announcements.
- Provides coverage for other secretaries as needed.
- Assists with house events and activities as needed.
- Assists other office staff as needed.
- Performs any other job-related duties, projects, and responsibilities as assigned by the Building Principal and/or House Principal.
Position Available: July 2026
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7.5 hours/day, 12 Months (260-262 days per year), 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM
Compensation: Starting hourly rate: $19.15/hour. Spring-Ford Area School District offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision and prescription insurance, as well as paid time off and a tuition reimbursement program. This position is part of the Public School Employees Retirement System (PSERS).
