Montville Township Public Schools is seeking a dynamic applicant for the position of middle school vocal music teacher.  

Position: Middle School Vocal Music Teacher - Anticipated Opening 

Date Available: August 25, 2026

Location: Robert R. Lazar Middle School 

Qualifications:

• Strong background in vocal performance and choral conducting
• Successful experience with a diversity of vocal music styles, and a strong desire to help students reach their full potential
• Competent piano skills are preferred. Ability to accompany middle school choral repertoire
• Experience with musical direction of choral groups and theatrical productions preferred
• Demonstrated energetic classroom teaching skills, and strong communication skills
• Interest in co-curricular vocal groups and theatrical productions
• Understanding of the need to maintain a strong middle school music program and the ability to collaborate with colleagues, both inside and outside of the department, to promote the music program

Salary is determined in accordance with the MTEA agreement salary guides, available on the district's website (www.montville.net). The position includes a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, and prescription coverage, sick and personal leave.
