QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be highly qualified and certified to teach in the state of Michigan.
- Must possess certification in Music Education, K-12, with JX or JQ endorsement.
- Instrumental emphasis preferred.
Have a strong desire to work with elementary school aged students and their parents.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Use a varied repertoire per curriculum adopted by the Board of Education to accomplish state benchmarks.
- Demonstrate knowledgeable pedagogy on all instruments.
- Deliver effective classroom instruction.
- Collaborate with teaching partner/grade-level colleagues.
- Work as part of a building team for the improvement of instruction.
- Plan and organize daily class time appropriately to maintain standards of pupil behavior and provide a productive environment at all times.
- Participate in a variety of extra-curricular and co-curricular activities, including curriculum and staff development.
- Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and administration.
- Prepare students for, and conduct, one or two required after school concerts each year.
- Be open to continuous change.
- The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substance in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the District.
- Maintain regular, reliable, and punctual attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
SALARY: Per DEA Master Agreement
