South Summit School District is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Full-Time Recreation Program Coordinator. The Recreation Coordinator will be responsible for organizing and facilitating recreational activities and programs to enhance the overall well-being and engagement of our community members. This requires flexible availability, including weekends and evenings. Salary will be based on the 2025-2026 Classified Salary Schedule and will receive benefits. Qualified applicant’s duties: • Work under the direction of the SSAFC Director. • Coordinate planning, organizing, implementing, developing and administering of recreation activities and special events sponsored by the SSAFC. • Help the SSAFC develop new programs to benefit the community. • Prepare schedule of games or events, schedule officials and scorekeepers. Recruit and supervise volunteers to operate activities. Coordinate and assist with tournament and other recreational activities which promote the SSAFC. Organize and conduct registration sessions for youth recreation programs; responsible for overseeing the collection of registration fees. • Responsible to see that all assigned programs run within prescribed budgets. • Must be able to accept criticism from the public, yet maintain a positive and professional attitude and uphold agency policies. • Solicit community support and assistance for these programs. Conduct outside extensions, public relations and in general promote the goals of the assigned programs. Must have effective verbal and written communication skills. • Maintain up to date and accurate inventory of athletic equipment. Upon approval of the SSAFC Center Director, order new equipment as needed. • All other duties as assigned by the SSAFC Director.
Qualifications: • Education and experience – Bachelor’s Degree in recreation, physical education or related field or two years’ experience in recreation program management. • An essential knowledge of recreation sports and activities. • Must possess a valid driver license Applicants must be fingerprinted and satisfactorily pass an employment background check.
