PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENT: The successful candidate will be required to complete fingerprinting through an approved fingerprinting vendor and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, within 48 hours of offer acceptance.
POSITION SUMMARY: Provides administrative support to the Superintendent of Schools and the elected members of the Board of Education. Develops and promotes good community relations among various community and school clientele.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Assist in scheduling, creating agendas, preparations for board meetings, documentation of meeting minutes.
Update Board of Education website.
Learn and follow state statute for boards of education, consult with legal as needed.
Collaborate with CASB, Colorado Association of School Boards, which includes staying up to date on relevant topics, protocols, new briefs.
Coordinate arrangements for annual conferences.
Communicate with BOE members and members of the public.
Election duties as assigned, related to BOE.
Policy tracking & revision as needed.
Communicate with district employees, public, community as needed to set appointments, answer calls, anticipate needs.
Draft and review communications; support social media communication.
Assist in preparations for meetings and events.
Confer with legal and other resources as needed.
Provide support for other district team members located at the district office as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING: High School Diploma/GED required.
EXPERIENCE: A minimum of two (2) years experience as an administrative assistant or equivalent experience
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
Effective use of technology and associated software including:
MS Word
Google Docs, Calendar and Meet
Google Meet and other video conferencing platforms
Proficient with social media platforms
Willingness to learn management of web pages within the district's website.
Effective and articulate communicator

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The noise level is typical of a school district.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Frequent sitting, bending, reaching; stooping, squatting. Occasional lifting five (5) to twenty five (25) pounds.
