Elementary Education Assistant (Grades K–5)

Thrive Charter School is seeking a caring, dependable, and student-focused Elementary Education Assistant to support teachers and students in grades K–5. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with classroom teachers to help create a positive, structured, and engaging learning environment where all students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Position Overview
The Elementary Education Assistant provides instructional, behavioral, and clerical support within the elementary classroom setting. This role is essential in helping teachers deliver high-quality instruction while ensuring students receive the individualized attention and support they need to succeed.
Responsibilities
- Support classroom teachers with instructional activities and lesson implementation
- Work with individual students and small groups to reinforce learning concepts
- Assist with classroom management and maintaining a positive learning environment
- Provide academic support in reading, math, writing, and other subject areas as needed
- Help supervise students during transitions, lunch, recess, and other non-instructional times
- Support students with behavioral and social-emotional needs using school-approved strategies
- Prepare instructional materials and assist with classroom organization
- Monitor student progress and report observations to classroom teachers
- Assist with accommodations for students with special needs as directed
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
Qualifications
- High school diploma required; associate degree or higher preferred
- Experience working with children in an educational setting preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively with teachers and staff
- Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude when working with students
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a school or childcare setting
- Familiarity with supporting students with diverse learning needs
- Strong organizational and classroom support skills
- Interest in pursuing a career in education
