Technology Coordinator
Description
Thrive Charter School is seeking a highly skilled, hands-on Technology Coordinator to provide comprehensive technology leadership across our campus. This role ensures that all instructional and administrative technology systems operate efficiently to support student learning and staff productivity.
Position Overview
The Technology Coordinator is responsible for managing, maintaining, and supporting all school technology systems, including devices, networks, instructional platforms, and data systems. This individual will serve as the primary point of contact for all technology needs across the school and will play a key role in ensuring a secure, reliable, and innovative digital learning environment.
This is a 12-month, full-time position requiring strong technical expertise, problem-solving ability, and the capacity to support both staff and students in a fast-paced school environment.
Essential Functions
Technology Systems & Support
- Provide daily, on-site technical support for staff and students
- Manage and troubleshoot Windows, Mac, Chromebook, and iPad devices
- Ensure smooth operation of hardware, software, and instructional technology systems
Network & Infrastructure Management
- Maintain campus-wide network connectivity, Wi-Fi systems, firewalls, and internet access
- Ensure system reliability, security, and uptime across all school buildings
PowerSchool & Data Systems
- Serve as primary administrator for the Student Information System (PowerSchool)
- Manage student data, reporting, and system configurations
- Support state reporting requirements (including NJ SMART)
- Provide training and support to staff on SIS usage
Google Workspace Administration
- Manage Google Workspace for Education (Gmail, Drive, Classroom, Admin Console)
- Oversee Chromebook deployment and device management
- Provide staff training on Google tools and instructional integration
Instructional & Staff Support
- Provide one-on-one and group training for staff on educational technology tools
- Support teachers in integrating technology into instruction
- Act as a coach for digital learning practices and tools
Data Security & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with FERPA and all applicable data privacy regulations
- Implement secure data practices for staff and student information systems
Operations & Additional Responsibilities
- Manage inventory and lifecycle of all technology equipment
- Collaborate with administration on technology planning and budgeting
- Support state testing technology readiness and implementation
- Respond immediately to technology issues impacting instruction or operations
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Educational Technology, or related field required
Experience
- 3–5 years of experience in technical support or IT systems administration
- Experience with PowerSchool and Google Workspace required
- Experience in a school or educational environment preferred
Preferred Qualifications
- Google Certified Educator, CompTIA A+, or Apple Certified Support Professional
- Experience in a charter school or small school setting
- Familiarity with NJ state reporting systems and requirements
- Strong instructional coaching or staff training experience
Compensation & Benefits
