Ancient Greek and Latin Instructor

Loyola Academy seeks a full-time Ancient Greek and Latin faculty member in the World Languages department beginning in the 2026/2027 academic year.

RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:

Teaching and leading students in accordance with the principles of Jesuit education, the mission of Loyola Academy, and the Profile of the Graduate at Graduation.

• Teaching Ancient Greek and Latin courses across all levels. This role is scheduled to teach five classes in AY 2026/2027: AP Latin, Honors Greek 2/Greek 2, Honors Latin 4/Latin 4, and Honors Latin 3 Maintaining proper records and communication with parents and school officials
• Working collaboratively with departmental colleagues on the development of an academically challenging and experientially relevant Classics curriculum
• Participating in the ministerial and extracurricular life of the students and the school
• Modeling the "Graduate at Graduation" outcomes
• Participating in departmental and school-wide professional development
• Participating in the first-year mentoring and induction program

• Fulfilling additional responsibilities as assigned

   

REQUIRED CREDENTIALS

• Bachelor's Degree in Classics or related field

   

PREFERRED CREDENTIALS

• Prior demonstrated commitment to Jesuit education
• Prior secondary education teaching experience

• Masters degree in Classics or related field

   

Compensation based on Loyola Academy's Faculty pay scale  - See attached
