JOB DETAILS:
- 230 Day, administrative contract
- Competitive salary and benefits for Lorain County; commensurate with experience, education, and qualifications as determined by the Superintendent

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid Ohio Administrative License with appropriate certification for high school principalship (or ability to obtain prior to start date)
- Certification in OTES 2.0 and OCES 2.0 preferred
- Demonstrated successful administrative and/or leadership experience, preferably at the high school level
- Strong background in curriculum, instruction, school finance, and data-driven decision-making
- Proven record of excellent attendance, professional evaluations, and effective leadership
- Ability to provide a clear BCI/FBI background check free of disqualifying convictions
- Adherence to the Ohio Educator Licensure Code of Professional Conduct
JOB OVERVIEW:
Midview Local Schools is seeking a visionary and student-focused High School Principal to lead Midview High School in advancing a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement. The Principal will serve as the instructional leader and chief administrator of the building, responsible for managing all aspects of the school program while aligning with district goals and initiatives.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of College Credit Plus, Advanced Placement, Career Technical Pathways, PBIS, and innovative scheduling practices. This individual must demonstrate the ability to lead meaningful instructional change, foster a positive and inclusive school culture, and build strong relationships with students, staff, families, and the community.
The successful candidate will be highly visible, an effective communicator, and a collaborative leader who inspires others, promotes accountability, and supports both academic and social-emotional student growth.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leadership & School Improvement
- Serve as the head administrator and instructional leader of the high school
- Implement district policies, procedures, and strategic initiatives
- Lead continuous school improvement through data analysis and innovation
- Promote the district's mission, vision, and educational philosophy
Staff Supervision & Development
- Hire, supervise, and evaluate certified and classified staff
- Foster a collaborative, team-oriented professional culture
- Support staff growth through professional development and instructional leadership
Curriculum & Instruction
- Oversee curriculum implementation and alignment with state standards
- Administer state testing programs and analyze results to improve student outcomes
- Support innovative programming, including advanced coursework and career pathways
Student Services & School Climate
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment
- Oversee student discipline and uphold the code of conduct
- Support PBIS initiatives and student behavioral interventions
- Ensure compliance with special education laws and services
Operations & Management
- Develop and manage the building budget with fiscal responsibility
- Coordinate master scheduling and daily operations
- Oversee student enrollment, attendance, and records
- Implement emergency preparedness and safety protocols
Community Engagement
- Build and sustain strong relationships with stakeholders
- Promote effective and transparent communication
- Support extracurricular and athletic programs, including league participation
