Description:  1.0 FTE teaching position in GRADES 3-5 ART.

Job Summary: 

  • Strong commitment to choice-based, student directed learning.
  • Help students self-identify as artists through TAB pedagogy.
  • Solid understanding and successful experience in the assessment of the arts.
  • Provide ongoing support and encouragement through instruction and assessments.
  • Collaborate with other teachers to design and coordinate common assessments and utilize data to target student developmental needs.
  • Participate in regular PLC meetings as an active and engaged professional.
  • Communicate frequently with parents, colleagues, students, and administrators through all available means of technology.
  • Establish and maintain high standards for character and academic growth.

Qualifications:

  • Current Minnesota teaching license, K-12 Visual Arts required.
  • Experience using TAB pedagogy at the elementary level preferred.
  • Experience working with upper elementary preferred.
  • Effective classroom management skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in collaboration and problem-solving.
  • Experience with curriculum and assessment design.
  • Understanding of the role of parent involvement and the ability to collaborate with parents.
  • Ability to use technology as an instructional tool.

Bargaining Group and Level:  Orono Education Association/Teachers

COMPENSATION

Full Year, Full Time

BA Step 1 ($51,256) to EdS Step 20 ($110,239)

 

INSURANCE  - .75 - 1.0 FTE
