The Parkway School District Department of Human Resources is currently accepting applications for the position of Assistant Principal at Central Middle School for the 2026-2027 school year.
Successful candidates will possess a strong desire to work within a school community that focuses on the development of the whole child. The Assistant Principal will work with the leadership team to create conditions for all students to excel at high levels and become moral and ethical citizens. Working with students, staff, and parents, the Assistant Principal has major responsibilities in the following areas:
- Promoting educational equity and social justice
- Focusing on the character development of students
- Supervising classroom instruction, curriculum implementation, and student assessment
- Supporting the work of professional learning communities
- Analyzing student assessment data and implementing school improvement plans
- Facilitating restorative practices with students, staff, and families
- Selecting, developing, and evaluating teachers
- Involving the community in building a student-centered school climate
- Developing relationships among students, staff, and the broader community
- Cultivating an environment that supports cultural diversity, equity, staff engagement, and teamwork
In addition, the candidate should possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a desire to develop relationships with students, staff, families, and community members. Specific job responsibilities will be determined based on the candidate's skills, abilities, and specific school requirements.
Minimum Salary: $101,125
12 Month Working Contract

Applicants must possess or be eligible for a Missouri Secondary Principal's Certificate. A candidate is considered eligible if they have completed all coursework, passed the appropriate DESE Building-Level Administrator assessment, and have appropriate certification issued by July 1. Successful experience in secondary school administration is desirable.
