POSITION: Cafeteria Area Manager

QUALIFICATIONS: 

1. Minimum five years food service experience.
2. High School Diploma or equivalent.
3. School Food Service manager Certification required.
4. ServSafe Certification required.
5. Must be bonded.
6. Diplomatic, congenial manner; appropriate, well-groomed appearance.
7. Supervisory experience, preferably in a similar institutional setting.
8. Other requirements as outlined by the Board and by Administration.
9. Good physical condition with ability to lift 40 pounds, able to walk, stand, kneel, sit, bend, carry, push, pull and/or squat in various intervals as needed for long periods of time.

REPORTS TO: Child Nutrition Director    

JOB GOAL: To regularly monitor and train cafeteria managers and food service employees to ensure quality control practices and proper policies and procedures are followed. To report problems and deviations from standard procedures to the Director.
 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: 

1. Monitors school meals programs in accordance with federal, state, and local requirements.
2. Completes monitoring requirements of administered meals programs.
3. Acts as a substitute Cafeteria Manager during absences/vacancies.
4. Regularly audits Sanitation and Safety and reviews and reports facility issues and safety hazards to the Director.
5. Monitors efficiency in cafeterias and recommends corrective action to the Director.
6. Promotes customer satisfaction by engaging students and staff.
7. Tests recipes, prepares and offers taste tests on new or evolving recipes.
8. Attends required meetings and professional development opportunities.
9. Organizational and time management skills.

10. Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Director of Child Nutrition. 

     

TRAVEL REQUIRMENTS: Travel to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.

SALARY: Commensurate with the Ocean Springs salary schedule for classified positions for the current school year.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 195 Days            Classified               Non-Exempt
