Special Education - Adapted Physical Education Teacher - Itinerant

27J Schools is looking for a highly motivated and skilled Adapted PE teacher who is deeply committed to continuous learning and student-centered instruction. This is an itinerant position that will join the current APE teachers in 27J.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive, relevant evaluations for students with a disability suspected of being eligible for APE specially designed instruction.
- Provide direct specialized instruction to students in one-on-one and/or small groups in accordance with their APE goals inside and/or outside of the general physical education class.
- Provide indirect / consultative support to the general physical education teacher so they are able to implement accommodations and modifications to support APE students in accessing and participating in the general physical education curriculum.
- Provide indirect / consultative support to SPED Paraprofessionals responsible to assist and support students in their general physical education class.
- Attend and participate in IEP meetings, parent teacher conferences, etc.
Education and Experience:
- Must hold or be eligible for an Adapted PE endorsement from the Colorado Department of Education
Must have a BA or higher from an approved program in Adapted Physical Education for school aged children including a 200 hr practicum across elementary and secondary.
