Description
Job Title: SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST (1.0 FTE)
Qualifications:
- Professional Educator License with an endorsement as a Speech-Language Pathologist registered in Region 6
- Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA (preferred); CFY accepted
- Experience preferred working with elementary students in grades early childhood through 6th
- Knowledgeable in phonology, fluency, and language disorders
- Experience with AAC preferred
- Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and parents and serve on a multidisciplinary team
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Duties:
- Identify and provide appropriate services for children with communication disorders in the following areas: phonological/articulation disorders, language disorders, stuttering/dysfluency, and other speech-language disorders.
- Participate in developing Individual Education Plans (IEPs), including measurable goals and objectives for each student's needs as applicable to the educational setting.
- Interpret test findings and make appropriate recommendations.
- Establish and maintain effective and efficient record keeping procedures.
- Participate in all pre-referral and referral procedures as required by the District.
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations and complete progress reports.
- Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with other professionals, students, parents, and community agencies.
- Consult with teachers, parents, and other IEP committee members to ensure that students' needs are being met.
- Model professional and ethical conduct at all times.
- Participate in District department meetings of speech-language pathologists for the purpose of coordinating and improving the program and services to students.
