The ROE 47 Office of Professional Learning & Educational Services is seeking a NEXUS Family Support/Attendance Intervention Specialist to provide both family-centered support services and student-focused attendance intervention across the ROE 47 service area.
About the Position
The NEXUS Family Support and Attendance Intervention Specialist serves in a dual role, providing NEXUS family support services and attendance/truancy intervention. This position works with families, students, school personnel, and community partners to address barriers to student success. Responsibilities include supporting families of chronically absent students, working with older and unaccompanied youth, providing family education and engagement opportunities, and intervening with truant students to improve school attendance and compliance.
A complete job description follows (see attachment). The anticipated start date is July 1, 2026, with the potential for early onboarding to support a smooth transition and training.
Office Location
The NEXUS Family Support and Attendance Intervention Specialist has flexible office space to best meet the needs of families served.
Compensation
The salary range is $42,000–$48,000. Final salary will be based on education and relevant experience. This position offers sick and personal days, as well as IMRF contributions. Health benefits are offered by ROE 47.
Travel
Regional travel (Lee, Ogle, Whiteside counties) is a component of this position. The successful candidate should expect to travel up to 50% of total work time.
