Upper School Girls Physical Education Teacher
Description
Lakeland Christian School is seeking and Upper School Girls Physical Education and Health Teacher for the 2026 School Year. The Upper School Physical Education (PE) and Health Teacher will lead girls in Middle School (grades 6-8) and High School (grades 9-12) in physical education and health lessons. This role fosters, promotes, and develops an understanding of the relationship between healthy body function, exercise, and lifestyle choices. The teacher motivates each student to cultivate physical fitness, strength, skill, agility, and coordination while also providing instruction on wellness, nutrition, and mental health. The teacher will be responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and developmentally sound learning environment that supports the school's mission and Christian values.
Qualifications
- Be a born-again believer, maintaining a testimony that is above reproach
- Active in local, evangelical church
- Valid state teaching certification in Physical Education and/or Health (or eligibility for certification)
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL) preferred for transporting athletic teams
- Valid ACSI and Florida teaching certificate
- Exhibit the gift of teaching and personality that lends to effective instruction in the classroom, and positive relations with colleagues, administrators, and students
- Demonstrate a commitment to Christian education

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Teaching: The teacher has the responsibility to teach the content at each grade level(s) assigned by the administration. In implementing that assignment, the teacher is to:
- Teach regularly scheduled classes as assigned.
- Conduct health classes covering topics such as nutrition, physical wellness, emotional health, and biblical perspectives on the human body.
- Be informed as to the academic, social, spiritual, and behavioral needs of students.
- Employ instructional methods, means, and aids to provide interesting, effective, and enthusiastic teaching/learning.
- Adapt instruction to meet the needs of students with varying ability levels.
Maintain a disciplined, positive, and safe learning environment.
