Description: Early Childhood Preschool Director
Job Summary: The DeKalb ROE operates several early childhood programs within a system of support for children and families: Prevention Initiative Center-based and Home Visiting as well as a Preschool For All. Some of the classrooms are embedded within Family Child Care Homes where the ROE provides the education and care in partner sites. Some of the classrooms are in the process of being situated at an early learning center.
Qualifications:
- Gateways Illinois Director Credential II or higher required
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood or related field
- Professional Educator License in Early Childhood preferred
- Experience in Early Childhood education leadership
- Pass a Criminal History background check
- Up to date with safety training certifications
Responsibilities:
- Manage daily operations in infant/toddler/preschool classrooms including in partnership with select Family Child Care Homes in DeKalb County
- Daily on-site presence at the Building Futures Center and periodic presence at the Family Child Care Homes
- Maintain a safe and nurturing environment
- Ensure compliance with DCFS licensing standards
- Oversee health and safety regulations
- Lead the team of teachers in the delivery of high-quality education
- Oversee curriculum development and delivery that meets state standards and is developmentally appropriate
- Train, supervise, and coach the teaching staff
- Maintain robust communication and build strong relationships with families
- Contribute to budget management
- Serve as a cooperating supervisor for student teachers
- Oversee outreach, recruitment, enrollment, and scheduling
- Engage in relevant professional learning
- Assist the Regional Office of Education in outreach events and other projects

Reports to the Coordinator for Early Learning Programs
Primary Location: Building Futures Center
Schedule: 12-month extended year position
Salary: $70,000 - $75,000 commensurate with experience
