ABE Teacher

JOB ID: 4718 - ABE Teacher - Part-time position beginning on or about 8/24/2026.

Location: Northfield Community Education Center

Scheduled Hours/Days: Up to 250 hours/year.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Education. 
Valid MN Teaching License, Adult Basic Education licensure preferred. 
Knowledge of Adult Basic Education content standards. 
Knowledge of adult learning and unique needs of adult learners, especially English language learners. 

Pay Rate/Range: 2026-2027 NEA Agreement BA-$57,681 - MA40-$95,320. Base pay DOQ.

Compensation/Benefits/Perks: This position is not eligible for benefits.

Deadline: Open Until Filled -- EOE (4/20/2026) Employment is contingent upon completion of a background check.

Responsibilities: 

• Teach Adult Basic Education classes on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at the Northfield Community Education Center.
• Daily planning and developing lesson plans for students and volunteers who assist the class.
• Assess, evaluate and respond to student performance and needs.
• Participate in professional development and staff meetings, as required.
• Assign and manage distance learning hours.
• Have regular communication with students.
