Assistant Superintendent of Administrative Services
JOB GOAL
The Assistant Superintendent of Administrative Services will assist the Superintendent in providing leadership in developing, achieving, and maintaining the best possible administrative services to students, staff, parents, and the community.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Current Arizona Superintendent Certificate at the time of application
- Minimum of five (5) years of administrative experience required
- Successful elementary (K-8) experience as a building principal preferred.
- Active involvement within professional organization(s) and committees.
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Supports the goals, objectives, strategies, and programs of the District.
- Attends Governing Board meetings and presides over such other meetings as the Superintendent designates.
- Prepares drafts of needed Governing Board policies, administrative rules, and status reports for the Superintendent's review and action.
- Oversees the supervision of the school administrators.
- Works with the building-level administrators in the development of leadership skills and shared decision-making.
- Confers with appropriate administrators on matters of concern.
- Oversees school safety program.
- Oversees school nursing program.
- Provides leadership to public relations.
- Focuses on recruiting and retaining students and families throughout the school district.
- Services as the District representative for parental concerns and complaints.
- Services in the role of resolution mediator in matters of conflict as directed by the Superintendent.
- Serves the Superintendent as a resource person to all sites.
- Attends state, regional, and national professional conferences related to the responsibilities as approved by the Superintendent and Governing Board.
- Interprets the programs, philosophy, and policies of the District to staff, students, and the community.
- Administers programs and services for staff, students, and the community as directed by the Superintendent.
- Works with other Assistant Superintendents in providing recommendations to the Superintendent for the continuous improvement of District educational programs.
- Serves as liaison to social, professional, civic, volunteer, and other community agencies and groups having an interest in the schools.
- Communicates to the Superintendent the requirements and needs of the District as perceived by staff members.
- Other job duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Knowledge of K-8 Public School Administration, district leadership practices, and instructional program oversight
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
- Skills in supervising, coaching, and evaluating school administrators and staff
- Knowledge of applicable School District Federal, State, Local laws and Governing Board policies.
- Skills in analyzing data and using performance metrics to support continuous improvement and decision-making.
- Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with all stakeholders.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- May require stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions
- Light work exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg contracts require exertion of forces greater than the sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.

SALARY RANGE: Executive Administrator Salary Schedule
