Description: Roseville Area Schools has a vacancy for a Special Education Lead Teacher/ASD center-based prep teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This is a 0.8 FTE position at Edgerton Elementary starting August 31, 2026.
Qualifications:
- A MN Teaching License in Special Education: ABS and/or ASD
- Commitment to an equitable education experience for all
- Demonstrated understanding of cultural competence for teaching
Primary Objectives of Position:
- To lead from a clearly articulated educational vision that is grounded in equity beliefs and practices and results in positive learner outcomes
- To provide resource special education support at the assigned school and to collaborate across the district in relevant topical areas
Major Areas of Responsibility:
- Professional learning/leadership regarding specialized and culturally relevant instruction
- Understands and can research special education curriculum benchmarks, and replacement curricula
- Data analysis as it applies to learner outcomes, interventions and curriculum, and application to student planning
- Researching by school, then district – patterns of underachievement and over- identification of our students of color
- Identifying professional development priorities by location/implementation within school and staff parameters
- Resource at school level, such areas as due process, strategizing development of IEPs and evaluations, serving as administrative designee when necessary
- Teaming with the RRT chair and due process office support staff for system efficiencies, mentoring, and staff development
- Team across schools, Office of Student Services, and with Office of Educational Equity in this work
- Other duties as assigned by Principal or the Executive Director/Assistant Director of Student Services
- Prep Coverage for center-based ASD program classrooms
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- MN Special Education Teaching or Related Services License is required
- Knowledge of School District Content Standards and Benchmarks, replacement curriculum(s)
- Understanding of specialized instruction and data analysis
- Broad understanding of special education, including due process, MN and federal laws and rules
- Capacity to develop broad leadership across areas identified; prioritize work within the time parameters
- Resilient and positive personal attributes
Compensation: Minimum full year, full time starting salary is $53,085 (prorated based on FTE), plus a district contribution toward health and dental insurance.
