Description
Job Summary:
The elementary school teacher will instruct a 3rd Grade class in basic curriculum areas. The teacher will work cooperatively with other classroom teachers, the pupil personnel team, and complementary subject-area teachers. The teacher will be responsible for the students in the assigned class, effectively teaching the curriculum to meet students' individual needs, evaluating student progress, and communicating progress to parents.
Organizational Relationship:
The Teacher reports directly to the Building Administration.
Qualifications:
- Illinois State Board of Education Professional Educator Licensure appropriate to assignment
- K-5 classroom and 6-8 content area teachers are required to maintain an ESL endorsement, or obtain it within their first two years in the district and prior to earning tenure
- Solution-focused approach to supporting the social, emotional, and academic development of all children
- Experience working within an elementary school setting and a diverse (culturally, racially, ethnically, linguistically etc.) student population
- Fluency in a second language, preferred

Salary:
