Description
District 39 is seeking a child-centered Social Worker with a high degree of energy, initiative, and flexibility with well-developed interpersonal skills. This position supports the general student population and also works as a transdisciplinary team member in our programs supporting students with comprehensive needs. Experience, expertise, and a commitment to supporting student populations with low-incidence disabilities who have significant learning, communication, and adaptive functioning needs are highly preferred.
Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Providing social-work/counseling services to individuals and groups of students
- Facilitating peer relationships through leading peer buddy/mentoring programs
- Serving as a resource/liaison for school teams and families
- Participating in team problem-solving, parent conferences, and IEP meetings
- Assisting with and conducting school-based evaluations
- Facilitating long-range student planning with parents and school teams
Qualifications: Valid IL educator licensure with proper endorsement (s).
Working Conditions:
$61,877.70 minimum annually with benefits. Actual compensation based on education and experience.
