Game Administrator (Athletics & Activities)
Position Purpose
Under the general supervision of the Activities Director, the Game Administrator is responsible for the safe, smooth, and professional operation of school-sponsored athletic contests and activities. The Game Administrator ensures a positive experience for student participants, coaches, officials, and spectators by maintaining safety, order, and district standards of conduct during events.
Essential Performance Responsibilities
- Ensures the safety and well-being of participants, coaches, officials, and spectators at all district-sponsored events.
- Coordinates with the Activities Director and custodial staff for set-up and take-down of facilities, fields, and equipment before and after events.
- Supports gate workers, including assisting with the securing of gate receipts and transferring monies to the safe in compliance with district procedures.
- Provides support and oversight for concessions operations to ensure smooth service and compliance with district guidelines.
- Serves as the primary point of contact for game officials, ensuring their needs are met (arrival, directions, payment coordination, supervision).
- Monitors spectator behavior and enforces district policies to maintain a safe and respectful environment.
- Ensures that facilities, restrooms, and parking lots are properly secured and cleared at the conclusion of each event.
- Communicates with emergency personnel as needed and responds to incidents or injuries in alignment with district safety procedures.
- Assists with crowd management, traffic flow, and coordination of emergency evacuation if required.
- Acts as district liaison with visiting schools, coaches, and fans to foster sportsmanship and positive relationships.
- Documents and reports any incidents, accidents, or unusual occurrences to the Activities Director promptly.
Additional Duties
- Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Activities Director, Principal, or Superintendent.

Equipment
- Uses radios, communication devices, keys, lights, sound systems, scoreboards, and other event-specific equipment.
- May use standard office equipment (computers, printers, copy machines) for record-keeping or reporting.
Travel Requirements
- Travels to Buena Vista School District facilities, athletic fields, and event venues as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of district policies, procedures, and safety protocols related to athletics and activities.
- Knowledge of crowd management and event supervision strategies.
- Ability to make quick, sound decisions in emergency or high-stress situations.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, staff, officials, and community members.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to coordinate multiple aspects of an event simultaneously.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships and model sportsmanship.
Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards
- Work is performed in gymnasiums, stadiums, outdoor fields, and other district facilities.
- Evening and weekend hours required.
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods, and to respond quickly to safety concerns across venues.
- May be exposed to inclement weather.
- PPE may be required during public health emergencies.
Qualifications Profile
- Valid Colorado Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to provide own transportation.
- Prior experience in athletics, school administration, supervision, or event management preferred.
- CPR/First Aid certification required

Work Schedule: As determined by the District Activities Calendar ; Payment $2,000 per season
