School Level Bookkeeper

FLSA: Non - exempt

Work Days: 190

Position start date: 7/29/2026

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or GED, Post high school training or Bachelor's in accounting/finance preferred but not required
  • Ability to operate computers and various computer systems.
  • Bookkeeping skills, basic office skills (keyboarding, filing, etc.)
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

 

REPORTS TO: Principal and Director of Finance

 

JOB GOALS:  To complete all assigned job duties in the role of Bookkeeper, ensuring the school operates in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner while maintaining strong financial records and supporting daily operations. 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform any bookkeeping tasks associated with the school.  Responsible for accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Prepare the preliminary annual budget with the Principal and other designated personnel.
  • Coordinate with the Principal to ensure revenues and expenses are accurate and categorized correctly.
  • Reconcile and balance bank statements monthly.
  • Work closely with the Director of Finance and Finance Coordinator on audits.
  • Participate in in-service training and attend professional meetings as necessary.
  • Cooperate with others and help to make the office a pleasant place to work.
  • Prepare and print monthly financial reports.  Review reports for accuracy and make corrections as necessary.
  • Receive, process, and record monies collected from students and events.
  • Follow the FCSS guidelines for School Activity Funds.
  • Assist faculty / staff, students and parents in the office.
  • Answer phones and relay messages 
  • Ability to learn and effectively use software programs such as Microsoft office, Excel, Frontline, and Google.
  • Monitor entry to the school and initiate lockdown if needed
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Prepare invoices for payment and complete required reports for review prior to checks being written.
  • Process school purchase orders.
  • Perform any other duties as requested by the Director or designee.
  • Demonstrates prompt and in-person attendance.
