Triton Middle School -- Web Coordinator

Overview

The 6th Grade Web Coordinator oversees programming that helps incoming 6th graders adjust to Triton Middle School. This includes organizing orientation, building connections with older student mentors, and supporting students as they navigate a new school environment.

Key responsibilities

Program coordination

• Plan and run a transition program for incoming 6th-grade students
• Organize orientation and beginning-of-year transition activities
• Create a schedule of events that support student adjustment throughout the year

Student leadership

• Recruit and support 7th–8th grade students to serve as mentors
• Train student leaders in communication, responsibility, and leadership
• Supervise mentors during orientation and follow-up activities

Student support

• Help 6th-grade students adjust academically and socially
• Monitor how students are doing during their first year of middle school
• Connect students with additional support when needed

Event planning

• Coordinate orientation day, small group meetings, and follow-up events
• Manage logistics such as materials, schedules, and space
• Ensure events run smoothly and are welcoming for students

Collaboration & communication

• Work with teachers, counselors, and administration
• Communicate with families about transition activities and supports
• Promote a positive and inclusive school environment

Program evaluation

• Gather feedback from students, staff, and families
• Make adjustments to improve the program each year

Requirements

• Valid Minnesota teaching license
• Experience working with middle school students
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work with and lead student groups
• Experience with mentoring, leadership programs, or student activities preferred
