THE SCHOOL BOARD OF HIGHLANDS COUNTY
POSITION TITLE: Bookkeeper
ASSIGNMENT: Bookkeeper 3 - Elementary - Confidential

ADDITIONAL DESIRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

PRIMARY PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintains school internal bookkeeping and handles all correspondence relating to internal bookkeeping
- Collects monies from various activities and projects and prepares bank deposits
- Issues checks in payment of all bills and maintains bookkeeping records on all transactions
- Files all records
- Prepares and posts instructional and non-instructional payroll for processing
- Verifies leave forms for accuracy
- Prepares time cards for non-instructional employees
- Prepares end of month financial reports to be sent to Finance Office
- Assists principal in preparing daily budget from funds allocated by the School Board
- Maintains budget bookkeeping records to accurately account for current balances in all departments and categories
- Supplies information as needed and requested regarding budget spending to principal and teachers
- Prepares budget amendments as required
- Prepares purchase orders and warehouse requisition for supplies purchased
- Verifies orders received and distributes to appropriate departments
- Handles correspondence relating to purchases
- Assists in answering telephone as needed
- Assists in completing clerical and secretarial activities within the office
- Serves as confidential secretary to principal
ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
Performs all other duties as assigned by the principal and/or assistant principal
TERM:
Length of contract and number of hours worked are determined by specific allocation as approved annually during planning-budgeting process
APPRAISAL:
Performance will be appraised annually in accordance with School Board policies
PAY GRADE:
According to the School Board of Highlands County Non-instructional Support Personnel Salary Schedule
