Systems and Database Administrator I
Description
Job Summary: The Systems and Database Administrator I specializes in supporting the Google Admin Console, AlphaCard, Filewave, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), TimeClock Plus, Frontline, ParentSquare, and ticketing systems. Based at the district's technology support center, the role includes providing phone, email, and walk-in support, as well as serving as a liaison between staff and technology resources. Responsibilities encompass technical support, repairs, upgrades, and installations for district computers, peripherals, and educational equipment (Mac, PC, printers, servers, and scanners). Additional duties include boardroom A/V support, occasional weekend work, and collaboration with coordinators, directors, and executives.
Starting Hourly Rate: Grade 12: $31.76 - $35.69 DOE
Internal Hourly Rate: Determined by the ESSA Negotiated Agreement
Work Day: 7.5 hours per day
Work Year: 12 months
Bargaining Unit: Education Support Staff Association (ESSA)
Job Qualifications/Requirements (please review job description for qualifications and duties of the position):
The following are required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in technology support or related experience
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a help desk or call center environment.
- Experience with desktop operating systems, including Mac OS and MS Windows.
- Must have an understanding of and the ability to maintain confidentiality of staff and student information.
- A valid Alaska driver's license and use of a personal vehicle. Must be able to gain access to military installations.
- Proficiency in sound reinforcement techniques.
- Experience in managing live and online presentations.
- Must work well with end-users to determine needed requirements, respond to questions and issues, and promote a high degree of customer satisfaction.
- Experience with education and system administration programs (PowerSchool, ParentSquare, Tyler, SolarWinds etc.)
