Special Education Consulting Teacher
Idaho Home Learning Academy
Idaho Home Learning Academy is seeking a collaborative and student-focused Special Education Consulting Teacher to support high-quality, compliant special education services across our virtual learning community. This role is ideal for an experienced educator passionate about supporting teachers, improving systems, addressing behavior, and helping students with disabilities thrive.
What You'll Do
Support special education teachers with IEPs, evaluations, compliance, and documentation
Review IEPs and reports to ensure alignment with state and federal requirements
Provide guidance on instructional strategies, accommodations, and behavior supports (FBA/BIP)
Collaborate with teachers, families, and service providers to support student success
Help lead professional development and special education team meetings
Support the implementation of assistive technology and inclusive practices
Coordinate with staff to ensure proper testing accommodations and service delivery
Serve as a liaison between special education, general education, and administration
What We're Looking For
Required:
Valid Special Education certification
Experience with IEPs, evaluations, and compliance processes
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment
Behavior Management Training
Preferred:
Leadership experience in special education
Familiarity with Power School Special Programs or similar systems
Knowledge of Idaho Home Learning Academy's mission and philosophy
